We really enjoy the partnerships we have created with our local farmer's markets. From live music to providing instrument Try Me Stations, it is a lot of fun to be out in the sun making music or teaching people about different kinds of instruments.
The Mike Risko Band enjoys doing shows at some of the farmers markets in the area.
Sometimes we invite guests up to sing with us.
We also like to do student showcases at the market so our students get to perform for all the people who are shopping.
The Pleasantville Farmers market is a great place for us to bring our Instrument Try Me Station!
We also bring our Instrument Try Me Station to the Ossining Farmers Market each year.
Mike and Miriam were asked to be Master of Ceremonies and play music for Ossining's Down to Earth Markets Food and Fashion Show in the Fall of 2015. This exciting event combined local people with local clothing stores. Hair and makeup was done by local hair salons and some of the models even carried local fruits and veggies that were in season at the Market. The models at the show were all local people like politicians, pta members and kids from the school district. The Riskos really enjoyed playing music to open the show and they had a lot of fun being a part of this truly local event.
The red carpet featured many local models including DJ Johnny G and Village Trustee John Codman.
