Make Music Day is a global celebration held annually on June 21, the summer solstice. What began in France in 1982 has grown into an extraordinary worldwide event, celebrated in over 1,000 cities across 120 countries. It’s a day dedicated to connecting communities through the joy of live music, with performances and music-making opportunities for all.
In 2015, Mike Risko Music joined the global Make Music Day organization and founded Make Music Ossining-Briarcliff. We proudly organize and facilitate all musical activities on this day, transforming our community into a vibrant hub of live music. What began as a small group guitar class has grown into an exciting event featuring up to 40 live music locations across Ossining and Briarcliff. From parks to local businesses, music fills the streets, bringing people together to listen, play, and celebrate.
Make Music Ossining-Briarcliff is part of a global tradition that connects communities through the power of music. From iconic cities like Paris and New York to our own vibrant town, this event brings people together to perform, create, and share in the joy of music.
Join us annually on June 21 and December 21 as we celebrate the universal language of music and the unique creativity of Ossining-Briarcliff!
In addition to our summer celebration, we are also one of the inaugural communities to host Make Music Winter on December 21, the winter solstice. This event brings pop-up performances and festive music-making to Ossining-Briarcliff, adding a special musical touch to the holiday season.
