Please take some time to familiarize yourself with our COVID-19 safety protocols in our music school and music store. We have made every effort to meet or exceed all requirements to help keep our community healthy. We also want to remind you that as the current health situation changes, these protocols may also change. We have also taken the Westchester with Care Pledge to ensure a safe environment for all our customers and staff. We thank you in advance for working with us as we navigate these important safety precautions.
Please note: We have transitioned to self monitoring for symptoms. If you are an in-person music student and any of the following applies to you, please contact us for a remote link for the necessary time frame.
If you are an in-person student and you are experiencing any symptoms (fever, chills, cough, shortness of breath, fatigue, body aches, headaches, cough, sore throat, congestion or runny nose) and/or
If you have been in close contact with anyone who tested positive for Covid-19 during the past 10 days and/or
If you have tested positive for Covid-19 during the past 10 days.
We are very fortunate to have this remote option and if any of these apply to you or are questionable, we thank you in advance for taking a remote lesson. We also have the ability to do lessons outside as the weather gets nicer. If you prefer an outdoor lesson, please reach out and let us know. While we understand that if someone in your household tests positive, but you don't, technically you are allowed to be out and about. Due to the one on one nature of music lessons and to ensure that our staff feels comfortable, we ask that you kindly opt for a virtual lesson in the event that you have a situation similar to the one just described.
Mike Risko Music has taken the following steps:
We have upgraded our HVAC system in our building by having MERV-13 filters installed. Filters with higher MERV ratings catch higher percentages of particles as well as smaller particles.
Face masks are optional for anyone entering the building.
We ask that all customers use hand sanitzer upon arrival, whether you are shopping in our store, taking a lesson or participating in a group class. Hand sanitzer is also available in all lesson areas.
If you are bringing a child to a music lesson or a class, please park in the lot and walk your student in. We are not using our waiting area at this time so please wait in your car. In the warmer months we will set up the outside waiting area. Please come inside to get your student.
We abide by all CDC cleaning protocols. All spaces and high touch areas are disinfected throughout the day and the restroom receives additional disinfectant throughout the day. When possible, windows and doors are left open.
Please do not bring food or drink into the building. Our snack bar is open for grab and go.
If parents would like to observe a lesson, we will give you a remote code or move the lesson to one of our larger spaces for you to watch. Lesson rooms are limited to student and teacher only at this time.
